BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A 31-year-old Montana man has pleaded not guilty to deliberate homicide in the June death of a 6-month-old he was babysitting.

Jason Allen Badger of Lockwood entered his plea Tuesday in District Court in Billings. He remains jailed with his bail set at $100,000.

Court records say Badger told investigators that he was bouncing the baby on his knee when the baby fell, but that the baby didn’t hit the floor.

He said he later noticed the baby was having trouble breathing. An autopsy showed the baby had blunt force trauma injuries to the head, hemorrhaging in the eyes and bruises on the face, arms, shoulders and legs.
