NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A third person has been arrested in the shooting death of a man who was trying to stop the trio from stealing his SUV.
North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor told local media that 23-year-old Leon Ginuwine Holmes of North Charleston was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder.
Seventy-one-year-old Henry D. Brown died after he was shot around 1 a.m. Monday when he came outside and fired warning shots in the air.
Pryor said Holmes was being held in McCormick County on unrelated charges when he was accused of killing Brown.
Twenty-year-old Brandon Daeshaun Meyers of North Charleston and a 17-yea-r-old male were arrested earlier.
Police say the men obtained Brown’s keys during an earlier break-in.
It was not known if Holmes has an attorney on the new charges.
