RANDOLPH, Vermont (AP) - A Vermont police chief is back on the job after being charged with assaulting his estranged wife.
Police say Daniel Brunelle and his wife got into an argument earlier this month and he shoved her to the ground. He was charged with two counts of domestic assault.
WCAX-TV (https://bit.ly/2uUtcwB ) reports Randolph Town Manager Mel Adams reinstated Brunelle to work this week. Brunelle had been placed on paid administrative leave.
Brunelle had pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. Adams says the case was resolved in family court to the satisfaction of the town, and another court hearing is scheduled for next month.
The town hired Brunelle in May. He and his wife are in the midst of a divorce.
