WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Authorities say a police officer received minor injuries during a struggle with a man in Delaware.

The Wilmington Police Department said officers responding to a call about suspicious activity behind a home encountered a man late Thursday.

The police department says the man tried to flee the officers and a brief struggle ensued. Police say one of the officers sprained his right foot and sustained minor abrasions during the struggle. Police say the man also received minor injuries. The suspect was then taken into custody.

Police identified the man as 25-year-old Rydell Mills of Wilmington.

Police say Mills faces drug charges after officers found drugs where they encountered him. It was not immediately clear on Friday whether Mills has an attorney.
