SEAFORD, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a drunken Long Island man has been arrested for running over and killing his girlfriend after they argued at a restaurant.

Nassau County police say 57-year-old Robert Savinetti, of Seaford, and his 44-year-old girlfriend were having dinner in Seaford Tuesday night when they began arguing and left the restaurant.

Police say Savinetti began driving away when the girlfriend ran alongside his vehicle, fell, and was run over. Police say Savinetti left the scene but later returned.

The girlfriend, identified as Lisa Micelli, of Melville, was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Savinetti was arrested on charges of vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of a fatal accident and driving while intoxicated. Efforts to reach his lawyer were not immediately successful.
