ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - An Albuquerque gym that trains some of the world’s best mixed-martial arts fighters says Jon “Bones” Jones reclaiming his UFC light heavyweight title was one of the gym’s greatest victories.

Jackson Wink MMA Academy general manager Michael Lyubimov says the gym is proud it was able to bring Jones back to an excellent condition to defeat Daniel Cormier on Saturday.

Jones trains at Jackson Wink MMA Academy along with former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm.

Jones (23-1) was suspended by the UFC and had his title stripped due to his involvement in an Albuquerque hit-and-run accident in 2015.

A positive drug test knocked him out of UFC 200’s main event and threw his career into crisis.

Jones says he feels like his career has a new beginning.
