ST. LOUIS (AP) - Police say a man was injured when a St. Louis sidewalk collapsed under the forklift he was driving during a downtown festival, sending him into a sinkhole about 8 feet deep.

KTVI reports that accident happened about 6:45 p.m. Saturday during the Rise Up Festival celebrating the revitalization of the downtown’s Washington Avenue area.

The man was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. His medical status was not immediately clear Sunday.



There were no other immediate reports of injuries.
