WATERTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - A 34-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of a man during a party at a home in northern New York.

Police in the city of Watertown say officers were called to the home once, only to be called back sometime later early Saturday morning for reports of a second disturbance.

While still at the home, police were notified that a man has been taken to Samaritan Medical Center with severe injuries. Officials say a man later identified as Shawndell Anderson died at the hospital from his injuries.

Police say he had recently moved from Syracuse to Watertown and lived at the home where he was stabbed.

Christopher Swem is being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bail. It couldn’t be determined from authorities if he has a lawyer.
