SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. (AP) - A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Georgia that left one woman dead and one man injured.
News outlets report Social Circle police say 22-year-old Desmond Sherron Jackson faces multiple charges, including murder and aggravated assault, in the Sunday night shooting that killed 24-year-old Heather Smith. Another victim, 26-year-old Quantavious Banks, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say a dispute that possibly happened over social media led to the shooting, and that Jackson and Smith knew each other. Police say Jackson lived at the address where the shooting took place.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI are assisting with the investigation.
It’s unclear if Jackson has a lawyer.
