ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta police say a stray bullet has injured a child after it traveled through her home and struck her arm.
Lt. Greg Lyon tells local news outlets the 9-year-old girl was inside an apartment when gunfire from an apparent drive-by shooting broke out Tuesday around 8 p.m. The girl was alert, conscious and breathing when she was taken to the hospital.
Lyon says witnesses told police that a sedan pulled up to the apartment building and multiple people inside started shooting. Two units were sprayed with a “large number” of bullets.
Lyon says it’s unclear which apartment unit was the intended target.
No arrests have been made. The case remains under investigation.
