HIRAM, Ga. (AP) - A man who rented a room at a Georgia house where a woman was found dead has been named a person of interest in the case.

Paulding County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Sgt. Ashley Henson tells local news outlets 39-year-old Beth Harris was found dead on Tuesday inside her Hiram home. Her husband, who Henson says is cooperating with the investigation, called 911 just before 6 a.m.

Henson says detectives believe 32-year-old Derek Jess Renfroe, who currently lives at the home, was present during the incident. Authorities are looking for him as a person of interest.

Harris’s death has been ruled a homicide. Further information hasn’t been released.
