PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say a suspect in a slaying near Philadelphia last month as well as shots fired on the same day in the city has been arrested in Georgia.

U.S. Marshals say they arrested 24-year-old Derrick Rollins on Tuesday in an apartment complex outside Atlanta. They say Rollins initially attempted to hide after fleeing about 750 miles south to Decatur but surrendered when he was seen at the apartment complex with a female associate. He is jailed awaiting extradition.

Police say Rollins is a suspect the July 29 murder of 29-year-old John Le in Haverford Township and is also wanted in a different shooting on the same day in northwest Philadelphia. Court records don’t indicate that charges have been filed in either case and it’s unclear whether he has an attorney.
