GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - A 46-year-old man has been accused of beating his wife to death at their Campbell County home in northeast Wyoming.

Timothy Welch is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 41-year-old Kayleen Welch.

The Gillette News Record reports (https://bit.ly/2vZj74u ) that Welch’s initial court appearance was postponed Wednesday and that he was to be appointed a public defender before his initial appearance was rescheduled.

Authorities say Welch’s 10-year-old daughter made a frantic 911 call about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, saying that her dad was beating her mother.

Police say they found Welch at the scene. They say he referred to his wife as the devil and was uncooperative by rambling and praying when investigators tried to interview him later at the sheriff’s office.
