STEUBEN, N.Y. (AP) - New York’s Oneida County sheriff says deputies have determined that speed was a factor in a weekend fatality.

Sheriff Robert M. Maciol says 42-year-old Lisa Shephard went off the road and a hit a tree Sunday night in the Town of Steuben.

The Steuben resident was pronounced dead at a hospital.
