Toddler dies after being pulled from Mississippi pool

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A 2-year-old girl who was found unresponsive in a Mississippi pool has died.

WLBT-TV reports the child died Wednesday after being pulled from a pool Tuesday evening.

Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey says deputies along with the Florence Fire Department responded to the scene at about 7 p.m.

The mother pulled the girl from the pool before a deputy arrived and performed CPR.

The child was taken to Blair E. Batson Hospital in Jackson, where she later died.
