MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office says a former Horry County detective has rejected a plea offer and will face trial next month on sexual misconduct charges.

Attorney General’s spokesman Robert Kittle told local media that Allen Large failed to respond to a plea deal offer before a deadline. Large was indicted last fall on five counts of criminal sexual conduct for allegedly coercing victims whose cases he was assigned to investigate to engage with him in sexual situations. He’s also charged with six counts of misconduct in office.

Kittle said the trial is scheduled the week of September 18.

Three other former officers also face charges in the investigation.
