BENSALEM, Pa. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of an elderly couple killed in an early morning fire in their suburban Philadelphia home.
Officials said 89-year-old Albert Serventi and 86-year-old Eileen Serventi were found on the first floor of their home in Bensalem in Bucks County following the blaze early Wednesday.
Investigators are trying to find out whether a power outage late Tuesday night might have contributed to the fire.
Officials say the power went out about 90 minutes before the fire was reported about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, and investigators were looking into the possibility that a candle may have sparked the blaze.
Fire officials say there were smoke detectors in the home but it wasn’t immediately clear if they were working.
