WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - The suspect in the killing of a man found beaten inside his burning home has been ruled a danger to society by a judge and held without bail.
Brayan Flores is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in the July 25 death of 53-year-old David Carlson. Police found Carlson’s body badly burned after firefighters extinguished the blaze at his Worcester home.
The Telegram & Gazette (https://bit.ly/2vJdLH6 ) reports that prosecutors said in court Tuesday that Carlson and the 28-year-old Flores were involved in a dating relationship and Flores used a wooden dowel to beat Carlson about the head, arms and neck.
Flores’ lawyer argued that his client should be released with electronic monitoring because he is “not a danger to anyone” and has no convictions for violent crimes.
