ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) - A northern Virginia man is facing multiple charges, including arson and child endangerment, after authorities say he started a fire in an eight-story apartment building.

Arlington County Police said Sunday that 27-year-old Antonio Taylor of Arlington got into an argument Saturday with a woman at the complex on Columbia Pike and lit a carpeted floor mat.

Police say Taylor then pushed an infant in a stroller into the fire. The woman was able to retrieve the infant and get out before the fire spread.

The fire did eventually spread to the point where flames were shooting from the top story. Residents in 25 units were displaced.

Police say that after Taylor was taken into custody Saturday afternoon, he kicked through a wall in an interview room and spat on officers.
