OCONTO, Neb. (AP) - Young rifle shooters will compete for trophies and medals at the annual Smallbore Silhouette Invitational on Sept. 30 at Pressey Wildlife Management Area.

This free competition is for shooters 11 and older who have passed hunter education but not yet graduated from high school. Competitors will shoot at steel silhouette targets, and they’ll be grouped in classes according to age, rifle weight, sight type and experience level.

Shooters must bring their own rifles and ammunition. Only equipment authorized by NRA Smallbore Rifle Silhouette Rules are allowed. Contact Matthew Haumont at 308-872-2348 or [email protected] to register.
