SAN DIEGO (AP) - Police say a dog was killed and two pedestrians suffered major head trauma when they were struck by a taxi in San Diego.

Officials say the cab driver, who was uninjured, called police to report the collision shortly before dawn Sunday.

Investigators say one of the victims, a 32-year-old man, went through the front windshield. He and a 23-year-old woman were hospitalized with serious head injuries.

The Union-Tribune says (https://bit.ly/2hDq1Y0) both pedestrians and the dog were trying to cross the street in the dark when they were struck by the oncoming car.
