JAFFREY, N.H. (AP) - Firefighters say a 3-year-old girl has been hospitalized after being run over by a car in Jaffrey, New Hampshire.

Jaffrey Fire Chief Keith Dupuis tells WMUR-TV (https://bit.ly/2wAfxeL) the girl was just taken out of the vehicle on Sunday afternoon when, for some reason, it jumped out of park and began moving. He said she was caught by the rear wheel and it ran over her.

The girl suffered injuries to the lower part of her body and abdomen area. She was flown to UMass Medical Center in Worcester. Her name and condition weren’t immediately known.

It’s not clear what may have caused the car to move out of park. The accident is still under investigation.
