LAS VEGAS (AP) - Nevada Highway Patrol says a man died after losing control of the stolen motorcycle he was riding and landing on one of the travel lanes.

Authorities tell KVVU-TV (https://bit.ly/2wB2aLe ) that the 21-year-old man had been travelling at high speed on Sunday when he hit the brakes hard and lost control of the bike. According to Nevada Highway Patrol, the man was thrown off the bike and landed one of the travel lanes.

Officials say another motorist tried to slow down traffic and help the man, but the motorcyclist was hit by a vehicle before he could reach him.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers say they are investigating the fatal crash.
