ROYALTON, Vt. (AP) - The sister of a Vermont man killed in a crash says her family will support the man who was driving the car as he faces charges in court.
Linda Arbuckle told the Valley News (https://bit.ly/2wyT1CR ) on Sunday that 38-year-old Jeremy Potwin was a good friend of her brother, 38-year-old James Arbuckle, who died Friday when a car driven by Potwin crashed into a guardrail in Royalton.
Potwin left the scene but was arrested at his home Saturday.
Linda Arbuckle says family members will be in court Monday to say that Potwin made a mistake.
Potwin faces charges including leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death and driving with a suspended license. He was being held on $25,000 bail Sunday at Southern State Correctional Facility. It was unclear if he had a lawyer.
