BRENTWOOD, N.H. (AP) - Jurors are set to continue deliberating the case of a woman charged with neglecting her 76-year-old grandmother for days before she died.
Authorities say Nancy Parker died last year after she was found in an Exeter mobile home in a home filled with trash and dog feces during a welfare check.
Hospital staff who cared for Parker testified that she was covered in dried stool and had rotting flesh on her thighs.
A Rockingham County jury started deliberating the case of Meritel Saintil on Thursday and continued Friday. Deliberations will continue Monday morning.
Saintil testified Parker’s home remained dirty despite her efforts to clean it. Saintil told police Parker had refused to leave the floor and directed her and mother not to call 911.
Saintil’s mother faces trial in January.
