Man’s death at Columbia home investigated as a homicide

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a man’s death at an east Columbia rental home as a homicide.

The Columbia Daily Tribune reports that police identified the victim Tuesday as 28-year-old Augustus Roberts. Columbia police officer Latisha Stroer says the man was unconscious and not breathing early Monday when police received a report of a suspicious person and responded to the home.

Emergency medical assistance wasn’t successful, and the Columbia man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after police found him. Police provided no other details about how he died.
