ROCKAWAY, N.J. (AP) - Authorities in New Jersey say an elderly woman has been hospitalized after driving her SUV into the side of a fire station.
The Daily Record reports the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Monday in Rockaway. Authorities the woman was leaving a gas station near the fire house when her SUV crashed through the structure’s side wall.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. No other injuries were reported.
Rockaway Police Chief Conrad Pepperman believes the woman might have experienced a medical emergency while she was driving.
