WHITE SHIELD, N.D. (AP) - A crash involving a pickup truck and a semitrailer in McLean County killed an 81-year-old woman from the town.

The Highway Patrol says the woman was driving the pickup and failed to yield at a state Highway 1804 intersection west of White Shield about midday Tuesday.

The semi driver tried unsuccessfully to stop, and his rig collided with the pickup. The woman died at the scene. She wasn’t immediately identified. The semi driver wasn’t injured.
