ST. LOUIS (AP) - The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s office is investigating allegations that a former police officer who responded to a domestic dispute call forced a woman into a sex act.

The alleged incident happened in 2015 when Brittany Walker was 25 and six months pregnant. She told the Kansas City Star that she feared the officer and was coerced into the sex act.

St. Louis police say an internal investigation was conducted but the officer resigned before the officer could be disciplined. Spokeswoman Michelle Woodling says police also sought criminal charges.

It’s unclear why no charges were filed by former Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce. Kim Gardner took over as circuit attorney in January. Spokeswoman Susan Ryan says Gardner has decided to reopen the case.
