PORT ORCHARD, Wash. (AP) - A man charged in the heroin and meth overdose death of a Washington woman has been sentenced to more than four years in prison.
The Kitsap Sun reports 33-year-old Larry Mase Jr. was sentenced to prison Friday after pleading guilty to delivery of a controlled substance in a school zone.
Mase had originally been accused of providing the drugs that killed 43-year-old Heather Marion-Santos and had initially been charged with controlled substance homicide.
Mase’s lawyer Tom Weaver says the South Kitsap woman contacted Alyssa Doering looking for drugs.
According to court documents, Doering told investigators that she acted as the “middleman.”
Weaver says it is not clear which of the two actually delivered the drugs.
Doering has pleaded guilty to a drug dealing charge and will be sentenced next week.
