BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A Glendive-area man has pleaded not guilty in the shooting death of his father in eastern Montana.

Todd Carlisle Fisher, 44, is charged with deliberate homicide in the killing of 80-year-old Wilbur Fisher. He entered his not guilty plea Nov. 28 in Dawson County, the Billings Gazette reports .

Fisher reported his father’s death on Oct. 16, when police said he called to report a break-in.

The coroner said Wilbur Fisher had been shot through the eye and dead for at least a day.

Witnesses reportedly told investigators that Todd Fisher was stressed about having to care for his father and that his father often berated him.

Court records say a gun was found in the bushes outside the residence.
