CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - In an interview about running for the U.S. Senate from West Virginia, former Massey Energy CEO Don Blankenship is jabbing at incumbent Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin and Republican Congressman Evan Jenkins.

Blankenship, whose filing was received Friday, is running as a Republican, like Jenkins and West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey.

He tells WVVA-TV he’s “fed up” with people like Manchin and Jenkins, saying they make promises and do nothing.

He and Manchin have feuded for years, especially over his responsibility for Massey’s Upper Big Branch Mine explosion in southern West Virginia, where 29 men died.

The 67-year-old Blankenship served one year in federal prison convicted of conspiring to violate federal mine safety standards.

He says he’s not at fault.

Asked if he’s running to win, he says, “We’ll see.”
