President Trump’s meeting with congressional leaders Thursday was moved from the Oval Office to the Situation Room for a military briefing, said the White House.

Mr. Trump’s meeting with the House and Senate leaders from both parties was expected to focus on a spending bill to avoid a government shutdown when funding expires Friday.

But a military briefing by Defense Secretary Jim Mattis was added to the agenda, said the White House.

No additional details were provided.
