BOLIVIA, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say a Brunswick County man charged with murder in a fatal wreck last week was out of jail on bail from a driving while impaired charge last month.

Local media outlets report that 24-year-old William Chandler McHenry of Supply is charged with murder, aggravated assault serious injury by vehicle and driving with a revoked license in the Feb. 2 wreck.

Eighty-four-year-old John Henry Howard of Supply was killed and Betty Erdman was hurt in the wreck near Holden Beach.

McHenry was charged with driving while impaired on Jan. 14 by a Shallotte police officer.
