SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - A drunken driver who crashed into an Orange County home and killed a sleeping man has been sentenced to 15 years to life in state prison.

Kourosh Keshmiri, who had a previous DUI conviction, was sentenced on Friday for the 2013 crash.

Prosecutors say Keshmiri’s blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit when he lost control on a curve and plowed a friend’s Cadillac into a Mission Viejo home.

The car was doing more than 85 mph in a 25-mph zone.

Sixty-year-old Kenneth Jackson was killed as he slept in the front bedroom.

Keshmiri was convicted in December of second-degree murder.

The 30-year-old also pleaded guilty Friday to two DUI-related charges.
