TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Many schools have delayed opening one day after a winter storm blanketed New Jersey with snow.

Ice is a problem on sidewalks and side roads Friday, while gusty winds are making temperatures in the teens and low 20s feel even colder. Motorists are urged to use caution because black ice is possible on highways.

Thursday’s storm dumped little more than 11 inches of snow on Vernon, 7 inches in Franklin Park, 4 inches in Freehold Township and less than an inch in Galloway Township.

The fast-moving storm, which hit at the start of the morning drive, was over in time for commuters to return home.
