GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - John Davis III scored 24 points and Furman notched its eighth-straight win, cruising past Samford 90-73 on Saturday.

Davis was 7 of 10 from the floor including four from distance for the Paladins (18-8, 11-2 Southern Conference). Devin Sibley added 22 points with six assists, Kris Acox had 17 points and seven rebounds and Daniel Fowler added 16 points.

Furman averaged 57 percent shooting from the floor and was 13 of 24 (54.2 percent) from long range. Samford averaged 49 percent shooting, making just 6 of 22 (27.3 percent) from beyond the arc.

Furman went on top early and led all the way, building to a 42-28 lead at intermission.

Samford closed to 53-44 early in the second half but Sibley sank back-to-back 3-pointers after that and the Paladins led by double figures the rest of the way.

Freshman Josh Sharkey led the Bulldogs (15-11, 6-7) with a career-high 23 points.
