STODDARD, N.H. (AP) - Authorities have identified a 44-year-old New Hampshire man found shot to death in Stoddard last week.

Attorney General Joseph Foster says state troopers found the body of Michael Carney, of Sullivan, at a home on Thursday night. A woman and a child were inside the house, both of them uninjured.

The state medical examiner’s office said Monday that Carney died from two gunshot wounds. They called the death a homicide.

Foster said the investigation is still ongoing and includes whether the person who shot Carney acted in self-defense.
