WATERBORO, Maine (AP) - Sheriff’s deputies in York County are seeking help in identifying one of three men who rescued a 16-year-old girl from a frigid lake.

WMTW-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2leBVrq ) the girl was riding on the back of a snowmobile on Little Ossipee Lake earlier this month when she was thrown into open water. The snowmobile driver dove into the water twice but couldn’t reach her.

Authorities say Bill Rogers, of Bill’s Auto in Old Orchard Beach, and another ice fisherman rushed to help her. The men threw her a rope lifeline and were helped by Brandon Jackson, of Limington, who was riding his all-terrain vehicle nearby.

The trio pulled the girl to safety.

Deputies asked for help on Facebook in identifying the third man, known as Taylor, so the men can be honored.
