AUBURN, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say one person has been killed and three others are injured after multiple vehicles crashed on a snow-covered central New York road.

State police say the crash occurred around 7:40 a.m. Wednesday on Route 20 in the Cayuga County town of Sennett, just east of the city of Auburn. Troopers say four vehicles were involved in the crash.

Police say one person died and three others have been taken to local hospitals. No other details have been released.

A stretch of two-lane Route 20 remains closed Wednesday afternoon.

The crash occurred as lake-effect snow squalls hit the area, but police say the cause of the accident is still undetermined.
