OVIEDO, Fla. (AP) - Prosecutors say a police officer for a suburban Orlando force has been indicted on charges of aggravated battery and shooting into an occupied car during a confrontation last September.

The State Attorney’s Office says a Seminole County grand jury on Tuesday returned the two-count indictment for Matthew Danler, an Oviedo patrol officer.

The charges are second-degree felonies.

Danler turned himself in Tuesday afternoon.

Jason Scott was shot in the arm and abdomen last September.

Authorities said at the time that Danler and another officer were responding to a call on a day-end street.

Authorities said at the time that Scott drove his car toward Danler and that is when Danler fired shots.
