WASHINGTON (AP) - Police in Washington say a Virginia man has been charged in the sexual assault of a woman in her home in 2007.

The department says in a news release that in October 2007, a man broke into the woman’s northwest Washington home, sexually assaulted her and ran off with items from her home.

Police say 42-year-old Ronald Berton Jr. of Craigsville, Virginia, was indicted in November in the incident. Berton was arrested Tuesday in a prison in Virginia, where he is serving a sentence for a 2010 rape.

Berton is charged with sexual abuse with aggravating circumstances, burglary, kidnapping and robbery.
