ALHAMBRA, Calif. (AP) - Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials are questioning an alleged trespasser in connection with the death of a 78-year-old woman at her Alhambra home.

Deputy Trina Schrader says authorities responding Monday to reports of an unresponsive woman found Moon Cheung dead of blunt force trauma outside the residence.

Schrader says earlier a man knocked on Cheung’s door and showed a family member who answered where Cheung was lying. When the family member rushed to assist Cheung, the man entered the home and locked the door.

The man was not located during a search of a home but deputies found someone matching his description hiding in a shed nearby.

The 25-year-old was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and homicide detectives were questioning him as part of their investigation into Cheung’s death.
