BALTIMORE (AP) - Fire officials say a massive fire broke out in a vacant warehouse in northwest Baltimore.

The fire broke out around 9 p.m. Thursday in the three-story industrial warehouse in the Woodberry area.

Fire department spokeswoman Blair Adams says more than 120 firefighters responded. She says they battled the blaze from outside the potentially unstable building and brought it under control around 4 a.m. Friday.

Interstate 83 closed as dense smoke blew across the highway, but reopened before the Friday morning rush. Light rail service in the area was also affected, but has resumed.

Media outlets report the former Schenuit Tire factory was slated for redevelopment and the building was put on the market recently.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
