SPARKS, Nev. (AP) - Police in northern Nevada say they have seen a spike in RV propane tank and battery thefts.

KRNV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2lT1kZ4 ) that Sparks police officers are looking for the person or people responsible for removing the items from RVs parked in driveways and on city streets.

Police say someone reported seeing a dark SUV in the area of the theft in at least one incident.

Officers say residents should keep all tanks and batteries secure and leave lights on at night to deter thieves.
