ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) - An 87-year-old St. George man has been found safe after he had to spend two nights in his car in a remote area of Arizona.
The Deseret News reported Thursday (https://bit.ly/2lepH03 ) that Leroy Waldo Fitzell was found near his vehicle, which had become stuck in mud in a remote part of Mohave County, Arizona. He was airlifted to a hospital and is expected to recover.
St. George police say Fitzell was found in a high elevation where there were cold conditions. Snow was on the ground.
Before he was found, Fitzell’s family had suspected something went wrong when he went for a long drive somewhere in the region.
