MONTICELLO, N.Y. (AP) - A New York man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for fatally shooting his wife two months after she gave birth to their fourth child.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports (https://bit.ly/2kRj7M4 ) that 66-year-old Jorge Gonzalez, of Liberty, was sentenced Thursday in Sullivan County Court. He had pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the killing of Ramona Gonzalez on Feb. 4, 2016, in a wooded area in Fallsburg, 80 miles northwest of New York City.

Police say he killed her with a shotgun and left her body in the woods.

She was reported missing the next day when her children went to a family friend with their concerns. The couple’s children at the time of her slaying ranged in age from 2 months to 15 years.
