TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A man has been fatally shot by Pima County Sheriff’s deputies during an armed robbery on Tucson’s south side.

Deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at the convenience store about 2 a.m. Sunday.

After arriving, deputies saw a man inside armed with a gun standing directly behind a store employee.

The man forced the employee out of the store while he followed closely behind.

After leaving the store, the employee ran toward a deputy standing at the south of the building.

The robber then showed a gun and sheriff’s officials say deputies shot the man and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the robbery suspect hasn’t been released yet.

Sheriff’s officials say no deputies were injured.
