MANDAN, N.D. (AP) - Two suspects are under arrest in western North Dakota after authorities found more than four pounds of methamphetamine in the trunk of a car stopped for speeding on Interstate 94.
A Morton County sheriff’s deputy stopped the eastbound car on the freeway early Saturday. A police dog alerted the deputy to the presence of drugs in the rental car.
The deputy found drug paraphernalia in the passenger compartment. After the driver and the passenger were arrested, a search of the trunk uncovered four plastic bags of meth with an estimated street value of $500,000.
Both suspects are in custody.
