LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a 17-year-old boy was chased and gunned down after a fight broke out at a basketball court in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2ll7b6a) that the teen was shot multiple times Sunday in a parking lot near the West Las Vegas Library. He died later at a hospital.

Police say an officer was at the basketball court just minutes before the shooting, handing out stickers and baseball cards to children.

Las Vegas police have not yet located any suspects and are asking people with information about the shooting to come forward.

Lt. Dan McGrath says several witnesses were at the scene and ran after shots were fired.

The victim’s identity will be released pending notification of his family.
